Meet Cristin Murphy

"Cristi Cox and Boots the Pony"
What is your name and general age?
Cristin Murphy. I'm in my thirties, but I can't remember exactly.
What about your family?
I have been married for 11 years to T.J. We have three kids. Paige, 10; Bailey, 8; Justin, 4. Together, they are our P, B & J!
What do you do for a living?
I sell stuff on Ebay and keep track of my kids. (My husband would "fire me" if I lost a kid somewhere between the soccer fields and home.)
Please list something about yourself that not very many people know.
I graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in English, with a specialization in African-American Women Writers and a minor in Geology. I didn't get into law school when I applied. I am just finger-printing and an interview away from being a certified teacher in Oklahoma, but I don't really like high school kids, so I haven't finished the process. Oh, I have tattoos.
Favorite book, movie, actor/actress, music?
I love Lonesome Dove and any other book by Larry McMurtry, who wrote The Last Picture Show, Texasville, Terms of Endearment, and many more GREAT books that you should read. I love reality television and Grey's Anatomy. I like pretty much whatever music is popular on MTV.
What is the worst/funniest/best/craziest thing that has ever happened to you at a horse show or in a barn?
When I was 11, I got overheated before an English class. I fell off my horse when I passed out. My mom needed to cool me fast and took off my heavy hunt coat and unbuttoned my shirt . . . and when I came to, I was laying there in the dirt with my clothes half off and a boy that I showed with hovering over me. Probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself so that we might know you a little better?
My trainer, Maureen Herd, says that I love a horse show more that anyone else she has ever known. It's true. But I also love to watch my girls show. My mother taught me how to ride. I didn't have a trainer as a youth. (No one really did back then.) My mom gave me the horse she rode, and we've just kept up the tradition. Did you know that my Mom bought Cowboy for herself, but I fell in love with him and she just let me ride him? After watching the successes of my own children, I now understand how my mom felt when she let me shine. It's just the best feeling!
Please let a friend or family member answer the following question:
What would you like to share about ______________? Perhaps something that they normally would not write about themselves.
